Abstract:
The present invention relates to a honeycomb catalyst which is obtained by supporting a noble metal on a honeycomb structure in which a plurality of through holes are arranged side by side in the longitudinal direction with partition walls interposed therebetween, said honeycomb catalyst being provided with an inlet-side end surface and an outlet-side end surface. The honeycomb catalyst is characterized in that: the partition walls comprise a base material part formed from an extrusion-moulded body including a ceria-zirconia composite oxide and alumina, and a coat layer which is formed on the surfaces of the base material part, and which includes the noble metal; and the aperture ratio of the inlet-side end surface is greater than that of the outlet-side end surface.
