Abstract:
This honeycomb filter has a porous honeycomb structure, the main component of which is cordierite. The pore diameter distribution of the porous honeycomb structure satisfies all of the following conditions: (a) D1<7μm; (b) 10μm≤D50≤14μm; and (c) 0.10≤(D90-D10)/D50≤0.78; where D1 is the pore diameter that is larger than the pore diameters of 1% of the total pore volume; D10 is the pore diameter that is larger than the pore diameters of 10% of the total pore volume; D50 is the pore diameter that is larger than the pore diameters of 50% of the total pore volume, i.e. D50 is the median diameter; and D90 is the pore diameter that is larger than the pore diameters of 90% of the total pore volume.
