Abstract:
A honeycomb filter 300 is provided with: a columnar, porous core part 100; and a porous ceramic coating layer 200 provided on the outer peripheral surface of the core part 100. The core part 100 has: a porous ceramic honeycomb structure 120 having a plurality of flow paths; and a plurality of sealing parts 130 for closing one end of some of the plurality of flow paths and the other end of the remaining flow paths of the plurality of flow paths. Letting Sc (m2/g) and Lc (−) be the specific surface area and ignition loss of the ceramic coating layer 200, respectively, Equation (1) is satisfied.
