Abstract:
A honeycomb structural body, comprising a ceramic block having a large number of through-holes longitudinally arranged parallel with each other through wall parts and sealed at one end parts thereof, wherein the ceramic block is formed of a composite material having ceramic particles and amorphous silicon, whereby an excellent compressive strength can be provided even if a porosity is increased, and since a mechanical strength is not so reduced even if the structural body is heated to a high temperature, an excellent durability can be provided.
