This honeycomb structure (1) comprises a center region (11) and an outer peripheral reinforced region (12). A reference boundary cell (21) includes cell walls (3) on two sides thereof parallel to a virtual parallel line (L1), the cells walls (3) having different wall thicknesses such that: a thin-wall (3a) thickness t1 < a thick wall (3c) thickness t3; an intermediate-wall (3b) thickness t2 < an outer wall (3d) thickness t4; t1 = t2; and t3 = t4. The honeycomb structure (1) includes: a reference cross-unit (31) comprising the thin-wall (3a), the intermediate-wall (3b), a cell wall (3e), and a cell wall (3f); a reference cross-unit (32) comprising the thick wall (3c), the outer wall (3d), a cell wall (3c), and a cell wall (3g); and a plurality of cross-units (33) each extending in four directions from a cell apex (330) disposed at every other point from a reference cell apex (311) as a starting point. In all of the center region (11) and the outer peripheral reinforced region (12), the cross-units (33) have the same wall thickness of the cell walls (3).
