Disclosed is a honeycomb structure in which an adhesive material paste is not pushed out to the edge surface side and the defects of sealing of edge surfaces and the like rarely occur. The honeycomb structure comprises multiple fired honeycomb bodies which are bonded to each other through an adhesive material layer, wherein each of the fired honeycomb bodies comprises multiple cells arranged side by side in the lengthwise direction through a cell wall. The honeycomb structure additionally comprises the adhesive material layer arranged on the side surface of the fired honeycomb body and an edge surface member. The side surface of the fired honeycomb body which is in contact with the adhesive material layer has a side A that is in contact with the edge surface of the fired honeycomb body. The edge surface member is composed of an inorganic material, has an almost square pole shape having a side X of substantially the same width as that of the side A, and is characterized by being so arranged that the side X is located in contiguity with the edge surface of the fired honeycomb body.
