Abstract:
This honeycomb structure production method has: a molding step for obtaining a molded article by molding a mixture which contains ceramic particles, an organic binder, and a dispersion medium; a degreasing step for obtaining a degreased article by removing the organic binder contained in the molded article; and an impregnation step for impregnating the interior of the partitioning wall and circumferential wall of the degreased article with metallic silicon. The impregnation step is performed at a temperature of 1,400-1,900°C in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere.
