Abstract:

In this columnar, porous honeycomb structured body, a plurality of first channels open at one end surface and closed at the other end surface, and a plurality of second channels closed at the one end surface and open at the other end surface, are formed. The porous honeycomb structured body is provided with center divider walls in which the cross sectional areas of the first channels and second channels in their respective axial directions are constant, and other end-side inclined divider walls in which the cross sectional areas of the first channels contract, and the cross sectional areas of the second channels expand, going towards the other end surface from the center divider walls. The axial length of the other end-side inclined divider walls is 4 mm or greater.
