Abstract:
Provided is a horizontal band saw configured so that the front side of a driver wheel and a driven wheel provided in a saw blade housing are open, wherein the saw blade housing structure is simplified and safety is improved. A horizontal band saw is provided with: a driver wheel (21) and a driven wheel (23) that are provided in a saw blade housing and that are opened in the front side; one protective wall (27) that seals at least the side of the driver wheel (21) and that is provided in a base frame (3); another protective wall (29) that seals at least the side of the driven wheel (23) and that is provided in the base frame (3); a door (31) that can seal the front side of the driver wheel (21) and that is provided on the one protective wall (27) so as to be able to open and close; a door (35) that can seal the front side of the driven wheel (23) and that is provided on the other protective wall (29) so as to be able to open and close; and a curtain (41) that prevents scattered chips and cutting oil from adhering to the inner face of the door (31) and that is provided between a saw blade housing (19) and the door (31).
