Abstract:
This horizontal band sawing machine (1) comprises a fixed vise jaw (27), and a cutting head (9) which cuts a workpiece (W) while being lowered along a guide post (31) extending in the vertical direction. The cutting head (9) includes a housing (33) to which each of a drive wheel (43) and a driven wheel (45) is rotatably attached, and an endless band saw blade (47) bridged between the drive wheel (43) and the driven wheel (45). When the workpiece (W) is to be cut by the band saw blade (47), the center of the drive wheel (43) is positioned above the center of the driven wheel (45), and the housing (33) moves vertically up and down along the guide post (31). A fixed vise reference (Rb), which is a vertical surface where the fixed vise jaw (27) fixes the workpiece (W), shares a cutting end point (Pc) where the band saw blade (47) finishes cutting the workpiece (W).
