Abstract:
A horizontal branch device for a self-propelled carriage, used to transfer a
loaded self-propelled carriage (50) between tracks placed crossed each other.
The device allows the carriage to be transferred from travel tacks to branched
tracks without stopping it, has a simple track branch structure so that less operation
trouble occurs in the device even if a large allowance in accuracy and error is
provided in the device, can be designed and installed easily with reduced labor,
and always assures reliable branching operation. The tracks at least include
first tracks (10a, 10b, 110a, 110b) and second tracks (20a, 20b) crossing the
first tracks. At the crossing of the tracks, there are provided linear track sections
(33, 133) for linearly connecting tracks present on the same line together and
curved track sections (34, 134) for connecting crossing tracks together in a
curve to thereby provide horizontally rotating rotation tables (31, 131). The
tracks are connected with each other by rotationally positioning the tables.
