Abstract:
The present invention provides a horizontal shaft water turbine device that makes it possible to maintain the water level required for rotation of a rotor and generate power even when the water level of a waterway drops. The horizontal shaft water turbine device comprises a water-receiving section (3) having a horizontally long water inlet (3A) at the front of a narrow path section (4) in a planar view of a duct (2) provided to the bottom of a waterway (R). A drain section (5) having a horizontally long drain port (5A) is provided to the rear of the narrow path section (4), the entire horizontal shaft water turbine device is configured so as to be flat when viewed from the side and have a height that allows entry of a rotor (12), the rotor (12) is arranged in the water-receiving section (3), and the rotor blades (13) are positioned slightly in front of the narrow path section (4).
