Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a liquid crystal display in a horizontal switching mode wherein liquid crystal molecules are rotated on a plane that is parallel to a substrate and in-plane electric fields formed between each electrode overlap each other, and the liquid crystal display comprises: a lower substrate; and pixel electrodes separately formed in unit pixel regions on the lower substrate, wherein in-plane electric fields formed between each electrode overlap each other by driving other pixel electrodes, which are located at both sides of any one electrode used as a common electrode among the pixel electrodes, at different voltage levels.
