This hot melt adhesive includes a tackifier, an elastomer, and a polyolefin wax having a softening point of 105-165°C; and satisfies the conditions X > Y and X - Y ≥ 5, where X[°C] is the temperature at which the viscosity during heating is 500 Pa•s, and Y[°C] is the temperature at which the viscosity during cooling is 500 Pa•s. This configuration allows this hot melt adhesive to demonstrate good coating suitability and be less liable to flow during heating while preventing increased costs and degradation of the environmental safety of a worker. The temperature (X) is preferably 90-140°C, and the temperature (Y) is preferably 75-110°C. This hot melt adhesive furthermore preferably includes a softener.
