Provided is a hot press device with which the workpiece can be quenched with a sufficient cooling rate. This hot press device (1) is equipped with a lower mold (10) and an upper mold (20) provided such that their respective molding surfaces oppose one another. When a heated workpiece (W) is sandwiched between the lower mold (10) and the upper mold (20) and a press process is performed, the workpiece (W) is cooled simultaneously while being held with the molding surface of the lower mold (10) and the molding surface of the upper mold (20) in contact with the surfaces of the workpiece (W). Air gap parts (14/15) and air gap parts (24/25), which are recessed inward from the respective molding surfaces, are formed respectively in the portion of the lower mold (10) opposing the convex corner-rounded parts (22/23) of the upper mold (20) and the portion of the upper mold (20) opposing the convex corner-rounded parts (12/13) of the lower mold (10). In addition, a water supply passage (17) and a lower mold water supply device (30), and a water supply passage (27) and an upper mold water supply device (50), are provided as a cooling water supply means that supplies cooling water for cooling the workpiece (W), between the lower mold (10) and the upper mold (20) and the workpiece (W).
