Title:
HOT ROLLING ROLL EXCELLENT IN ABRASION RESISTANCE AND REDUCED IN SEGREGATION OF CARBIDE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1997/048505
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A high-performance, hot-rolling, high-speed steel roll which possesses excellent abrasion resistance and, at the same time, when produced by an economically advantageous centrifugal casting method, does not cause segregation of any carbide. The hot rolling roll has an outer layer comprising, on a weight basis, C: 2.4 to 2.9 %, Si: not more than 1 %, Mn: not more than 1 %, Cr: 12 to 18 %, Mo: 3 to 9 %, V: 3 to 8 %, and Nb: 0.5 to 4 %, the above constituents simultaneously satisfying requirements represented by the following formulae: (1) 0.27 Mo (%)/Cr (%) 0.7 and (2) C (%) + 0.2.Cr (%) 6.2, with the balance consisting of Fe and unavoidable impurities.
