Abstract:
A steel-slab-use hot scarfer constituted by arranging side by side a plurality
of scarfer units each comprising an upper block and a lower block provided with
fuel gas jetting ports, an oxygen passage provided between the upper block and
the lower block, and shoes mounted on the lower block, wherein the positions of
between-shoe contact surfaces formed between adjacent shoes are deviated sideways
from the positions of between-lower-block contact surfaces formed between
adjacent lower blocks to thereby prevent oxygen passing through oxygen passages
from leaking from between the contact surfaces, whereby the deterioration of
the surface profile caused by slag occurrence due to abnormal combustion can
be prevented.
