Description:
HOUSEHOLD AND HYGIENE PAPER PRODUCTS PACKAGING FIXABLE TO A

HOLDING DEVICE

Technical field

The invention relates to household and hygiene paper products packaging fixable to a holding device, the packaging comprising a plastic film adapted to form an enclosed wrapping that encompasses a bundle formed of the paper products.

Background art

The prior art includes a wide range of packagings that are fixable to a holding device. A packaging material fixable to a holding device is disclosed, by way of example, in the utility model with registration number U176. The utility model relates to a packaging device, particularly for the temporary packaging of bakery products, comprising packaging elements adapted for receiving the bakery products, the packaging elements being mounted on a carrier element. The utility model is essentially characterised in that the packaging device comprises plastic bags that are bundled together, are suspended on the holding member of the carrier element, from which they can be separated by means of a sawtoothed or other perforation, the bags having ventilation holes on their sides.

According to the prior art solutions, bundles are formed from household and hygiene paper products, the bundles are wrapped in plastic film, and then the plastic film is sealed off. When the products are put to use the plastic film is ripped open, and the entire contents of the packaging is removed and is stored in an appropriate place, such as in a cupboard or on a shelf. Alternatively, the necessary amount of products is removed from the packaging, the packaging is folded back on the remaining products, and the packaging is placed on the ground or in a cupboard in that state. Household and hygiene paper products packaged applying the known packaging types are not always comfortable to use.

Description of the invention

The object of the invention is to provide a packaging that can be handled and stored easily, and can be used in a simple and straightforward manner. The object of the invention is realized by the packaging described in the introduction of this application, fixable to a holding device, such that at least one fixing means is disposed at the side of the plastic film opposite to the packed paper bundle.

The term "bundle" will hereinafter refer to rectangular blocks, to rectangular blocks having rounded-off corners, and to circular or oval-base blocks. In the context of this application the term "household and hygiene paper" is used to refer to paper handkerchiefs, paper napkins and paper wipes, but the term may also cover block-shaped bundles of toilet tissue or paper wipe rolls having a cylindrical shape.

The material of the plastic film packaging can be easy-to-handle polyethylene, polypropylene, or a combination thereof. The plastic film preferably comprises colourful advertisements, advertising text, or text conveying other information.

The fixing means can be made of different materials and can have different shapes. In a preferred embodiment both sides of the fixing means comprise self-adhesive material. In a further preferred embodiment the fixing means is magnetic film. The fixing means may also be arranged to be self-adhesive on its first side, having an adhesive-bonded or welded

arrangement on the other side. Other fixing means having similar characteristics, such as adhesive putty or pressure-sensitive hot melt applied to the packaging film and covered by a protective sheet after application, also fall in the scope of the invention.

In a further preferred embodiment the fixing means is implemented as a film that is partially or discontinuously adhesive-bonded or welded to the plastic film, said film being optionally arranged to have holes. The fixing means arranged in this manner can be hung on a holding device by passing the fixing means through the holes or bores, thereby providing mechanical fixing. With this embodiment, the packaging can be removed from the holding device once it is empty, and can be replaced with a new, full one.

The fixing means according to the invention may be of different shapes and/or colours.

Applying this arrangement, fixing means of varied colours, or of interesting shapes that are, by way of example, attractive for children, can be produced.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention the closed plastic film has the shape of a rectangular block, with a fixing means being arranged thereon. To facilitate opening, it may be preferable to equip the plastic film with an opening member implemented as perforations.

Brief description of the drawings

The invention will now be explained in detail referring to the accompanying drawings, where Figs. 1 a and lb, respectively, show the front and rear views of an embodiment of the packaging according to the invention,

Figs. 2a and 2b, respectively, show the front and rear views of another embodiment of the packaging according to the invention,

Figs. 3 a and 3b, respectively, show the front and rear views of a third embodiment of the packaging according to the invention, and

Figs. 4a and 4b, respectively, show the front and rear views of a further embodiment of the packaging according to the invention. Modes for carrying out the invention

Figs, la and lb, respectively, show the front and rear views of a preferred embodiment of the packaging according to the invention. In Figs, la and lb, the packaging of a bundle made of 100 pieces of paper handkerchiefs applying the plastic film 1 is illustrated. A fixing means 4 is secured to the backside of the plastic film 1 at the side thereof which is not touching the paper handkerchiefs, i.e. at the outside of the package. In this embodiment, the fixing means 4 is a two-sided self-adhesive material. One side of the two-sided self-adhesive material is stuck to the plastic film 1 , while the other side is covered by a protective sheet. As in normal practice, the protective sheet should be pulled off when the plastic film - the packaging - is intended to be secured to the desired location. The protective film should then be pulled off from the fixing means 4, and thereby the plastic film 1 can be secured by pressing it to the holding device of choice. The holding device may be a smooth, flat surface such as a wall tile, a piece of wood panelling, a piece of furniture, a door, or any similar object. Small-sized plastic film 1 packagings, such as the 100-piece pack of paper handkerchiefs, can be secured applying a single fixing means 4.

If so required, the plastic film 1 (the packaging) can also be fitted with two or more fixing means 4. In the embodiments of Fig. la and lb the plastic film 1 comprises an opening member 8 implemented as perforations. It is clearly seen in the drawing that the fixing means 4 is arranged in the proximity of the edge of the plastic film 1 distal from the opening member 8, on the backside of the plastic film 1.

Figs. 2a, 2b illustrate another embodiment of the packaging according to the invention.

The plastic film 2 is capable of packaging a larger bundle of toilet tissue rolls. Three fixing means 5 are secured to the backside of the plastic film 2. Means for securing can be adhesive bonding or welding. In this embodiment the fixing means 5 is a magnetic film known per se, which allows for securing the packaging to a metal plate functioning as a holding device. In the embodiment depicted in the drawing three pieces of the fixing means 5 are applied, but this number can of course be changed as required. The plastic film 2 comprises an opening member 9 implemented as perforations.

In Figs. 3 a and 3b, the packaging of a bundle of 8 toilet tissue rolls is illustrated. In this embodiment, three pieces of adhesive putty have been applied as fixing means 6 to the backside of the plastic film 3 in order to secure the packaging to the holding device.

Figs. 4a and 4b, respectively, show the front and rear views of a further embodiment of the packaging according to the invention. In Figs. 4a and 4b, the packaging of a bundle made of 50 pieces of paper napkins applying the plastic film 1 is illustrated. Two pieces of the fixing means 7 are secured to the backside of the plastic film 1 at the side thereof which is not touching the paper napkins, i.e. at the outside of the package. In this embodiment, the fixing means 7 is a plastic film fixed by means of welding or adhesive bonding. The plastic film of the fixing means 7 is secured to the plastic film 1 by discontinuous or partial adhesive bonding or welding. This arrangement allows the packaging to be hung on - and thereby be retained by - a holding device, such as on a hook or nail, utilising the openings of the fixing means 7 that have remained free.

The fixing means 7 can also be produced from multi-layer plastic film such that an opening is left between the layers, the opening allowing for hanging the packaging on the holding device, or the film can be arranged to have holes also adapted for hanging the packaging on the holding device, and thus for providing mechanical fixing. The plastic film 1 comprises an opening member 8 implemented as perforations also in this embodiment.

The fixing means may be arranged to have any shape or colour. They may be strip- shaped, rectangular, or square. The fixing means can also be arranged as different figures, by way of example, as an animal figure, which can attract the attention of customers, by way of example, children.

The advantage of the invention lies in that it can be used comfortably. By way of example, the packaging containing household and hygiene paper products may be placed in a bathroom or kitchen, secured to a door, to the wall, or even to a refrigerator door, and thereby it is always at hand and is accessible if necessary.
