A housing structure of an electric energy meter, comprising a rear housing (2) and a front housing (1). One of the front housing (1) and the rear housing (2) is provided with an insertion portion (11), and the other one is provided with a slot (21) in insertion fit with the insertion portion (11). A slot wall of the slot (21) comprises a bottom wall (211) and an outer extension wall (212), and the outer extension wall (212) is at least locally recessed toward the bottom wall (211) to form a recess portion (212a); the insertion portion (11) has a first end portion (11a), and the first end portion (11a) of the insertion portion (11) is accommodated in the slot (21) when the rear housing (2) is connected to the front housing (1); the insertion portion (11) is fixedly connected to the slot wall of the slot (21), and the outer side wall of the insertion portion (11) is at least locally exposed to the recess portion (212a) in a front-rear direction. An electric energy meter, for facilitating seeing a meter prying trace from the appearance of the housing to know whether a meter prying event occurs. A housing manufacturing method of the electric energy meter, by means of laser welding.
