Abstract:
A hub unit (1) with an auxiliary steering function is provided with: a hub unit main body (4) including a hub bearing (3); a unit support member (5) which is disposed on a vehicle body with a suspension device interposed therebetween, and which supports the hub unit main body (4) in two upper and lower locations in such a way that the same is capable of rotating about an auxiliary steering axis (A) which extends vertically; and an auxiliary steering actuator (6) which is installed in the unit support member (5) and causes the hub unit main body (4) to rotate about the auxiliary steering axis (A). The auxiliary steering actuator (6) consists of a motor (27) and a linear motion mechanism (29), and has a linear motion output portion (6a) linked to the hub unit main body (4). The linear motion mechanism (29) is, for example, a feed screw mechanism provided with a trapezoidal screw thread self-locking function.
