Provided is a human body detection device capable of accurately determining whether there is a human body by taking time to determine whether there is a human body. This human body detection device (1) detects a human body within a prescribed detection area (A). The human body detection device (1) comprises: a change detection means (43) for detecting change in the detection area (A) on the basis of whether a signal output by an infrared sensor (20) has satisfied at least one prescribed condition, a pending state setting means (44) for setting a state to pending if the change detection means (43) detects change in the detection area (A), and a present/not-present state setting means (45) for, after the lapse of at least a prescribed period (T) from the setting of the state to pending by the pending state setting means (44), switching the state setting from pending to present or not present on the basis of the condition of the detection area (A) over the prescribed period (T), during which the state was pending. The condition of the detection area (A) is acquired from the signal output by the infrared sensor (20).
