A humidifying and cleaning device according to the present invention comprises; a water reservoir having water stored therein; an air-wash inlet formed through the water reservoir and communicating the inside and the outside of the water reservoir; a water-reservoir humidifying medium covering the air-wash inlet and formed of a material capable of absorbing water, wherein the water-reservoir humidifying medium provides moisture to air passing through the air-wash inlet; a watering housing disposed within the water reservoir, wherein the watering housing suctions the water in the water reservoir, pumps the suctioned water up when rotating, and sprays the pumped water; and a watering motor supplying a rotational force to the watering housing, wherein the water reservoir humidifying medium is spaced apart from the water stored in the water reservoir and is wetted by the water sprayed by the watering unit. The humidifying and cleaning device, according to the present invention, can maintain the humidifying medium in a dry state when not being used in a humidification mode so that it is possible to minimize the propagation of fungi and bacteria.
