Title:
HUMIDIFYING PAD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/017988
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A humidifying pad to be pressed to the skin in using is improved so that it shows a high speed of temperature rise and can sustain a desired temperature over a long period of time. A humidifying pad (1) has a heating element (26) located between first and second surface sheets (21) and (22). When oxygen is supplied via the air-permeable first surface sheet (21), the heating element (26), which contains a metal powder, a salt and water, can generate oxidation heat and thus convert the water into steam. The heating element (26) has been impregnated with from 17.5 to 26% by weight of an aqueous solution of sodium chloride (sodium chloride concentration: 18 to 22% by weight) for supplying the salt and water.
