Abstract:
It is determined whether the remaining capacity of a battery exceeds a first threshold value. Subsequently, depending on where a detected speed lies with respect to a predetermined first speed, a predetermined second speed, and a predetermined third speed, selection is made of one of the three travel modes consisting of a first travel mode, a second travel mode, and a third travel mode. A vehicle travels in the mode thus selected. In other words, depending on whether the remaining capacity of the battery exceeds the first threshold value, which is a steady criterion capacity value, it is possible to easily select a series type mode or a parallel type mode, as appropriate, in relevant speed regions, with the result that the vehicle can travel in the mode thus selected. Therefore, stabilization and facilitation of travel control can be achieved.
