Abstract:
The present invention relates to a battery system for an electric vehicle. According to the present invention, a hybrid battery system for an electric vehicle comprises: a lithium battery module including a plurality of lithium battery cells; a lead storage battery module including a plurality of lead storage cells; a first sensing unit having a sensor for measuring the temperature and voltage of the lithium battery module; a second sensing unit having a sensor for measuring the temperature and voltage of the lead storage battery module; a control circuit which is connected to the first sensing unit and the second sensing unit, and which measures the state of charge of the lithium battery module and the lead storage battery module using the values measured by the first sensing unit and the second sensing unit, and which compares the temperature of the lithium battery module with a reference temperature, and compares the voltage of the lead storage battery module with a reference voltage so as to transmit a control signal; and a charging/discharging circuit which is connected to the lithium battery module and to the lead storage battery module, and which includes a switch for selectively discharging the lithium battery module or the lead storage battery module in accordance with the control signal. The hybrid battery system for an electric vehicle according to the present invention uses a lead storage battery module and a lithium storage module alternately with each other, thus preventing degradation of an output voltage of the lead storage battery module and degradation caused by the temperature rise in the lithium battery module. In addition, the hybrid battery system of the present invention uses the lead storage battery module which is inexpensive, thereby reducing manufacturing costs.
