Abstract:
A hybrid power system capable of generating a mechanical power by burning the mixture of fuel gas produced by vaporizing hydrocarbon and air in an engine (11), wherein the fuel gas produced by reforming the hydrocarbon is fed to the fuel electrode layer of a fuel cell module (13) formed by stacking a plurality of power generation cells comprising solid electrolyte layers and fuel electrode layers and air electrode layers disposed on both surfaces thereof, and the air or oxygen is fed to the air electrode layers so that the fuel cell module (13) can generate an electric power at a temperature of 930 ° C or below, whereby either or both of the mechanical power produced by the engine (11) and the electric power generated by the fuel cell module (13) can be outputted, and gasoline or light oil available from a normal gas station can be used as the material of the fuel gas fed to the fuel cell module.
