Abstract:
 A hybrid system (2, 2A) having an internal combustion engine (10) and an electric power generator (21), wherein the electric power generator (21) is coupled directly or indirectly to a crankshaft (15) of the internal combustion engine (10), and when the internal combustion engine (10) is stopped, a hybrid control device (41) for controlling the electric power generator (21) rotates the crankshaft (15) by means of drive force of the electric power generator (21), and performs control so that the crank angle reaches an angle (θ1-θ2) having less friction (Qf) in the rotation of the crankshaft (15) than the crank angle when the crankshaft (15) has stopped. The starter-produced torque needed to start up the internal combustion engine (10) and to restart after an idling stop is thereby reduced, and the time to begin travel is shortened.
