Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a hybrid vehicle control device and control method with which it is possible to reduce starter motor load, improve starter motor resilience, and improve muffling when starting the engine. This hybrid vehicle control device (25) and control method to solve the problem, which travels while switching between motor travel and engine travel as appropriate, are configured such that it is possible to execute the starting of an engine (13) by cranking using the motor torque (tm) of a travel drive motor (5) (S17).
