Abstract:
When a motor (MG) is rotated greater than or equal to prescribed RPMs by the drive rotation of an engine (EG), controlled to zero torque by a zero torque control means (21), and the motor (MG) temperature is greater than or equal to an upper bound threshold based on a temperature upper bound threshold map, a motor preservation control means (40) lowers the engine (EG) RPMs. The motor (MG) RPMs are reduced, and the amount of heat emitted declines through the zero torque control, thus allowing the motor (MG) temperature to be reduced, facilitating motor (MG) preservation. It is thus possible to increase the performance of the motor (MG) cooling structure or eliminate the need for enlarging the motor (MG), thereby facilitating cost reduction and size reduction of a hybrid drive device (HV).
