Abstract:
Provided is a hybrid vehicle control method that can prevent a large reduction in vehicle deceleration, said reduction accompanying regenerative torque limiting during coasting, and can prevent driver discomfort. During coasting due to an accelerator release operation, an engine clutch (CL1) is released and a coasting regenerative torque that is produced by a motor generator (MG) is made a target regenerative torque. When a prescribed regeneration limit condition has been established, a regenerative torque upper limit value is limited to a value that is smaller than the maximum value of the regenerative torque that the motor generator (MG) can produce. This hybrid vehicle control method is configured such that an engagement command is outputted to the engine clutch (CL1) during a period from when the limiting of the regenerative torque upper limit value begins until this regenerative torque upper limit value matches the target regenerative torque.
