Provided is a hybrid vehicle drive device that can reduce loss produced in a motor during stable travel. The device includes: an engine (2); a motor generator (1); an input shaft (41) to which drive force is input from the engine (2); output shafts (42, 43); an automatic transmission (4) that forms one of a plurality of different gear positions with different transmission ratios of the rotation speed of the input shaft (41) divided by the rotation speed of the output shafts (42, 43); a stable travel state determination unit (10) that determines whether the vehicle is in stable travel state; a motor disengagement permission determination unit (10) that makes a disengagement permission determination for permitting disengagement of the motor generator (1) from the automatic transmission (4) when the vehicle is in stable travel state; and a motor disengagement unit (10) that disengages the motor generator (1) from the automatic transmission (4) when the disengagement permission determination is made.
