Abstract:

A hybrid vehicle comprising: an engine (24); a first rotary electric motor (MG1), a drive shaft that rotates in association with wheels; a power partitioning mechanism for mechanically partitioning power between a rotating shaft of the engine (24), a rotating shaft of the first rotary electric motor (MG1), and the drive shaft; and a controller (40) for controlling the rotational speed of the first rotary electric motor (MG1) so as to cause the rotational speed of the engine (24) to match a target rotational speed. The controller (40) calculates a torque command value of the first rotary electric motor (MG1) on the basis of an upper limit of power discharged from an accumulator for supplying electrical power to the first rotary electric motor (MG1). In a case where there is established a torque restriction condition including an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal being operated simultaneously, the controller (40) calculates a torque command for the first rotary electric motor (MG1) on the basis of a value in which the upper limit is further restricted.
