Abstract:
The disclosed hybrid vehicle is provided with a required driving force acquiring means (22) for acquiring the required driving force needed to be output, and an electric motor driving force acquisition means (23) which, taking into account the remaining capacity of a power storage device (BATT), acquires the maximum electric motor driving force (Tm) which can be outputted from the power outputted from an electric motor (MG) in each gear. When the required driving force (Tq) is less than or equal to the maximum electric motor driving force (Tm), the highest gear in which the electric motor (MG) is capable of outputting the required driving force (Tq) is determined, an automatic gear transmission (1) is controlled so as to set said determined gear, and the vehicle is run only on the power of the electric motor (MG).
