Abstract:
A hybrid vehicle comprising: an engine; an output member that transmits drive to driven wheels; a rotary electric machine; and a power split mechanism that splits and transmits the drive output from the engine to the output member and the rotary electric machine. The power split mechanism includes at least three rotary elements: an input element connected to the engine; a reaction element connected to the rotary electric machine; and an output element connected to the output member. In order to apply to the driven wheels a torque corresponding to a required engine torque based on an acceleration request, the rotary electric machine is configured so as to be capable of outputting a reaction torque to the required engine torque. The reaction torque of the rotary electric machine is output when the engine speed is equal to or higher than a predetermined value. In this hybrid vehicle, the engine speed increase rate is maximized regardless of the accelerator position if the engine speed is less than the predetermined value.
