Abstract:
In a small construction machine such as a mini-shovel, by adopting a hybrid system and reducing the size of the engine, better fuel efficiency, improved exhaust characteristics and reduced noise are achieved, and installation space for a power storage device is secured; even when the power storage device is small, early reduction of the charge remaining in the power storage device is suppressed; and the operating rate of the machine is improved by decreasing the frequency of interrupting operations for charging the power storage device. If the engine speed detected by an engine speed detection device (15) falls to or below a rated speed at which the output horse power of the engine (11) is maximal, a vehicle body controller (46) operates a generator motor (31) as a motor and performs assist control, and if the engine speed is higher than the rated speed, the vehicle body controller (46) performs charging control of the battery (33).
