Abstract:
A sudden decrease in vehicle speed or an abnormal sound may be caused by a sudden increase in the coefficient of friction which is liable to occur when the vehicle is about to stop immediately after it was washed or early in the morning in winter. To prevent this, it is detected whether it is about to stop or not, and whether a sudden increase in the coefficient of friction of a friction member of a brake occurs or not. When a sudden increase in the coefficient 'mu' of friction of the friction member is detected, the hydraulic pressure applied to the brake is reduced.
