Abstract:
Provided is a hydraulic damper that allows oil to completely fill the inside of a hydraulic chamber and can prevent the oil from leaking to the outside during sliding of a piston or during manufacturing. A method for manufacturing the hydraulic damper is also provided. The hydraulic damper (10) has: a piston (20) having a piston body (21) and piston rods (23, 25); a cylinder (40) having a cylinder body (43) and cylindrical parts (41, 47), the cylinder (40) being filled internally with an oil (O); first seal rings (35) for sealing the gap between the piston rods (23, 25) and the cylindrical parts (41, 47) to form a hydraulic chamber (51), the first seal rings (35) being positioned closer the cylinder body; and second seal rings (37) positioned further to the outside of the cylinder body than are the first seal rings (35). When the oil (O) completely fills the inside of the hydraulic chamber (51), a space (52) for holding oil (O) that leaks from the first seal rings (35) is provided between the first seal rings (35) and the second seal rings (37).
