Abstract:
A hydraulic excavator drive system (1) includes a first pump (21) that is connected to a head-side chamber (13a) of a boom cylinder (13) with a head-side line (22) and connected to a rod-side chamber (13b) with a rod-side line (23) so as to form a closed circuit, and a second pump (31) that supplies a hydraulic oil to at least one of an arm cylinder (14) and a bucket cylinder (15). The hydraulic excavator drive system (1) further includes a switching valve (52) attached to a relay line (51) that connects a supply line (32) extending from the second pump (31) and the rod-side line (23). The switching valve (52) opens the relay line (51) when performing a boom raising operation, and blocks the relay line (51) except when the boom raising operation is performed.
