Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to make it possible to reduce noise and erosion (cavitation erosion) caused by aeration due to a transition from a high-pressure step to a low-pressure step, and to increase rotation efficiency. Therefore, this hydraulic pump or motor is provided with: a residual pressure release port 30 provided to a valve plate 7, the residual pressure release port 30 communicating until a top-dead-center cylinder bore 25 communicates with a valve plate intake port PB1; a residual pressure detection port 40 and residual pressure port 41 for using actual measurement to determine the value of residual pressure in the top-dead-center cylinder bore 25 until the top-dead-center cylinder bore 25 communicates with the valve plate intake port PB1; and a direction-switching valve V10 for switching and blocking a flow channel between the residual pressure release port 30 and a hydraulic oil tank T, and a flow channel between the residual pressure release port 30 and the valve plate intake port PB1, on the basis of the residual pressure value determined by the residual pressure detection port 40.
