Disclosed is a hydraulic system for increasing the fuel efficiency of equipment by lowering the relief pressure of a relief valve so as to minimize the loss of power of an engine when in a standby mode, in which a working device or the like is not in operation. The hydraulic system according to the present invention comprises: an operation lever; a hydraulic pump and a pilot pump respectively connected to an engine; an actuator for a work device, which is connected to the hydraulic pump; a control valve which is converted by the manipulation of the operation lever so as to control hydraulic fluid supplied to the actuator for a work device; a two-stage relief valve which is mounted on a pilot signal line of the pilot pump and converted into the first relief pressure and the second relief pressure according to electric control signals from the outside; a detection means for detecting whether or not equipment is in operation; and a controller which outputs a control signal so as to convert the two-stage relief valve into the second relief pressure by the detection signal of the detection means if the equipment is in operation and to convert the two-stage relief valve into the first relief pressure by the detection signal of the detection means if the equipment is in a standby state.
