A hydraulic traveling apparatus provided with a left traveling valve (3) and pressure compensating valves (30) which are installed in a circuit for supplying a discharged pressure oil from a left hydraulic pump (1) to a left hydraulic motor (6) for traveling, and a right traveling valve (12) and pressure compensating valves (30) which are installed in a circuit for supplying a discharged pressure oil from a right hydraulic pump (10) to a right hydraulic motor (15) for travelling. The pressure compensating valves (30) have pressure compensating ports (32, 32) and communication ports (33, 33), and adapted to be pressed by the inflow-side pressure in the direction where the pressure compensating ports (32, 32) communicate with one another, and pressed by the load pressure in the direction where the pressure compensating ports (32, 32) are shut off, whereby the two circuits are made to communicate with each other and shut off from each other.
