A hydraulic vehicle jack system (10) that safely lifts vehicles without using the vehicle as a power souce power source and without moving mechanical parts. The system comprises a hydraulic vehicle jack (10), hydraulic pump system (31), and contol device (35). Also disclosed is a method for lifting a vechile.
