Abstract:
Provided is a hydroelectric power generator such that it is possible, without adversely affecting a system, to remove dust and aquatic plants which have adhered to a plurality of water turbines used interconnectedly, and to suppress an increase in cost by the addition of a simple function. This hydroelectric power generator comprises: a plurality of water turbines (1); a plurality of power generators (2) for respectively generating power from the rotation of a corresponding water turbine (1) among the plurality of water turbines (1); a system interconnection means (4) for supplying, to the system, power generated by the plurality of power generators (2); and a plurality of braking force generation means (5) each for applying braking force to a corresponding water turbine (1) among the plurality of water turbines (1). This hydroelectric power generator further comprises: a periodic brake control means (17) for periodically causing each of the plurality of braking force generation means (5) to generate a braking force; and an overlap prevention control means (18) for controlling the overlap in the times at which the plurality of braking force generating means (17) generate braking force between the plurality of water turbines (1).
