Abstract:
Provided is hydroforming equipment and a hydroforming method wherein a loading path can be determined easily. A hydroformed product is obtained by performing a first step where axial compression of a pipe end is carried out while an inner pressure is maintained at a fixed level by using a die into which contact sensors capable of determining contact with a metal pipe are attached at at least two different positions in the axial direction of the pipe, and progress of axial compression is stopped when a contact sensor attached at a position closest to the pipe end and not yet touching a metal pipe senses a contact with a metal pipe, performing a second step for raising only the inner pressure while fixing the position of pipe end and stopping the inner pressure rise when a contact sensor not yet touching the metal pipe determines a contact with the metal pipe, performing a third step for dropping the inner pressure to a level set before raising the inner pressure while still fixing the position of pipe end, and repeating the first through third steps until all the contact sensors sense contacts.
