Abstract:
A hydrogen generating apparatus which comprises a reaction vessel (10) holding a metal capable of generating hydrogen by an oxidation reaction with water and a heating means (20) for heating said reaction vessel (10), characterized in that said heating means (20) uses a chemical exothermic reaction as a heat source. The hydrogen generating apparatus allows the stable generation of hydrogen without the by-production of carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide or the need for a large amount of electric energy.
