Abstract:
A hydrogen generating system according to the present invention is provided with an electrochemical device, a supply unit, a power source, and a controller. The electrochemical device supplies an electric current between an anode and a cathode and thereby generates hydrogen at the cathode from a mixed gas including hydrogen supplied to the anode. The supply unit supplies the mixed gas to the electrochemical device. The power source supplies an electric current in a predetermined direction between the anode and the cathode of the electrochemical device. The controller controls the power source so that the electric current value calculated on the basis of the amount of the mixed gas supplied to the electrochemical device is set to the electric current value of the electric current flowing from the power source to the electrochemical device. Through the present embodiment, degradation of an anode catalyst by hydrogen deficiency is suppressed, and high-purity hydrogen can be generated without needless discharge of the mixed gas including hydrogen.
