Abstract:
Disclosed is a hydrorefining process involving a hydrorefining step in which an oil to be treated is contacted with a catalyst in the presence of hydrogen under the conditions of a hydrogen pressure of 2 to 13 MPa, a liquid hourly space velocity of 0.1 to 3.0 h-1, a hydrogen/oil ratio of 150 to 1500 NL/L and a reaction temperature of 150 to 380ºC to thereby produce a purified oil. The oil contains an oxygenated hydrocarbon compound. The catalyst comprises: a carrier which comprises a porous inorganic oxide having at least two elements selected from aluminum, silicon, zirconium, boron, titanium and magnesium; and at least one metal selected from the elements belonging to Groups 6A and 8 in the periodic table, which is supported on the carrier.
