Abstract:
The invention relates to a hydroxyethyl starch, to a method for the production thereof, a pharmaceutical preparation containing said type of hydroxyethyl starch, and to the use of said pharmaceutical preparation for the production of a volume substitute, a plasma volume substitute or a plasma volume expander, and also to the use of the pharmaceutical preparation for maintaining normovolemia and/or to improve macro and microcirculation and/or to improve nutritive oxygen supply and/or to stabilise haemodynamic effects and/or to improve volume activity and/or to reduce plasma viscosity and/or to increase tolerance to anaemia and/or to haemodilution, in particular, for therapeutic haemodilution in case of disturbances in blood circulation and occlusive arterial diseases, especially peripheral arteries.
