Hygroscopic particles of the present invention comprise a hygroscopic material and polymer resin formed continuously or discontinuously on the surface of the hygroscopic material. The hygroscopic particles may protect a device from moisture without actually touching the device. The present invention also relates to an organic EL getter composition including the hygroscopic particles, and to an organic EL device using same.
