Abstract:
Provided is a hypothesis generation device 100 comprising: an observation acquisition part 30 for inputting an observation acquisition plan into an observation model 50 which, upon acceptance of a query based on a first-order predicate logic formula, outputs an observation corresponding to said query in accordance with a defined rule, where said observation acquisition plan has registered therein an observation, which is expressed in said first-order predicate logic formula and which said query is about, and a cost to be obtained in future with regard to said observation, and acquiring the observation whereto said cost has been attached; and a hypothesis generation part 40 for accepting an observation that is a first-order predicate logic formula for which all terms have values, and applying the accepted observation and the acquired observation to knowledge data represented by a first-order predicate logic formula including a material conditional so as to generate an abduction result formed from a first-order predicate logic formula leading to a possible consequence and a cost indicating an evaluation of a hypothesis based on said first-order predicate logic formula.
